There are everyday things that at first glance seem simple, but they are not.
Making everyday things easier and safer is the main objective of Gustavo and Emmanuel Hernández Ramos, young Mexican entrepreneurs who seek to stay on the path of success.
A little over a year ago they had an idea and today they are one step away from commercialization, both in the national market and in the United States.
Does cutting an avocado seem simple to you? Well, although it may seem so, it is not so much for all people, even in the United Kingdom and the United States have reported cases of serious accidents known today as “hand of avocado” which consist of injuring with hands knife for trying to slice and remove the seed of an avocado.
Upon learning of such a situation is like Emmanuel, Gustavo and his father came up with the idea of inventing an easy-to-use tool that contributes to eradicating this problem that is increasingly common due to the increase in avocado consumption that has occurred in the last years worldwide.
This is how Avocutter emerged, an avocado cutter with blades and a razor that is harmless to humans, but that cuts avocados to perfection, removes seeds and also serves to store them and slow down the oxidation process.
“Cutting an avocado is a simple or daily action, which however has hurt many people, so our main objective when inventing the Avocutter is to give a simple solution to actions of everyday life.
“Solving a daily need quickly, easily, cheaply and with quality standards is our main mission”, commented Gustavo and Emmanuel.
The inventors of Avocutter decided to start in 2017 and immediately began the process of registering both the brand and the industrial design of the avocado cutter, so they are in the final stage to receive the patent.
Gustavo and Emmanuel not only decided to register the product with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) to obtain the patent in Mexico, but they took it to the international level.
In the European Union they have already granted the patent and are in the process of receiving it in the United States, Canada and Japan.
Avocutter has the backing of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) where Gustavo and Emmanuel began the process of incubation and development of the product, which meets the highest quality standards, including certifications of the Food and Drug Administration of United States on the use of food grade materials.
On the other hand, the creators of Avocutter already work in alliances with distributors both nationally and internationally, among them, the avocado producers themselves in Mexico, who have described Avocutter as a practical and useful tool for slicing the product.
